Breed library

Find the personality that feels like home.

Five breeds, honestly described. Each guide covers origin, temperament, diet, living needs, grooming, lifespan and the questions families actually ask — so you can choose with information rather than instinct alone.

Side by side

Compare the breeds at a glance

Every breed has trade-offs. This table is a starting point, not a decision — the individual cat in front of you matters more than the average of its breed.

i Grooming, energy and lifespan are breed averages. A well-raised, well-fed individual can sit at either end of the range. We describe every cat we place as an individual for exactly this reason.

Choosing well

Three questions worth answering first

01

How many hours are you out?

A Ragdoll alone for twelve hours a day will be unhappy. A Bengal alone for twelve hours a day will redecorate your home. Be honest about your routine.

Persians and British Shorthairs tolerate solitude far better than Bengals or Ragdolls.

02

How much grooming is realistic?

Daily combing is the price of a Persian coat. If that is not something you will genuinely do, a shorter coat is the kinder choice for the cat.

British Shorthair and Bengal: weekly. Ragdoll: 2–3× weekly. Maine Coon and Persian: near daily.

03

Who else lives with you?

Young children, elderly relatives, dogs, other cats — each changes which breed will settle easily. Calm breeds adapt faster; active breeds need more management.

Tell us in your enquiry — it shapes our recommendation more than anything else.
